Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Précis AI ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms govern all use of the Service and form a binding legal agreement between you and Précis AI Technologies ("we", "us", "our").

2. Description of Service

Précis AI is an AI-powered writing tool that generates rule-compliant précis from legal documents, passages, and other text inputs. The Service is intended for use by legal professionals, law students, government officials, and others engaged in legal or professional document work.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

4. Account Registration

You must register for an account to access the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Access to the Service requires a paid subscription or credit pack. All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed via Razorpay. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Credit packs are non-refundable once purchased. To cancel a subscription, contact us at support@precisai.in before the next renewal date.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights of third parties
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying AI models
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service without authorisation
• Use automated tools to scrape or mass-generate output from the Service
• Submit false or misleading information to the Service

7. AI-Generated Output

The précis and other outputs generated by the Service are produced by AI and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. All output should be reviewed by a qualified professional before use in any legal, academic, or professional context. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated content. You are solely responsible for your use of any output from the Service.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Service. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to process that content for the purpose of providing the Service. We retain all rights to the Service itself, including its software, interfaces, models, and underlying technology. You own the output generated from your inputs, subject to the limitations in Section 7.

9. Confidentiality

We do not use your uploaded documents or generated outputs to train AI models. Your content is processed solely to provide the Service to you. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is handled.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these Terms or for any reason at our discretion, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 7, 8, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
